Auditing
How do Fifosys undertake IT Audits?
At Fifosys, we work with our clients to create comprehensive, modern, forward-thinking IT strategies. These are intended not just to solve problems when they arise, but to help take businesses to the next level. To do this, we generally start by carrying out a detailed internal IT audit, which will allow us to understand three key things:
Where is your business now?
Where do you want your business to be?
What do you need to do to get there?
An IT audit allows us to fully understand your current IT infrastructure and any problems or weaknesses. It also enables us to present you with tailored recommendations, based on your specific business, rather than providing more generic, off-the-shelf solutions. From there, you can make short and long-term decisions regarding your IT strategy.
What Does an IT Audit Entail?
Fifosys will work with you to carry out a detailed IT audit, and the process will include the following:
Evaluation of current IT infrastructure, identifying immediate issues;
Analysis of baseline IT technologies your business is currently using;
Identification of any potential areas of risk that need to be addressed;
Assessment of your current IT security setup and your data protection strategies;
Comparison of current systems against recommended best practices.
Once the audit has been carried out, you will receive an IT audit report, outlining our findings.
Recommendations and Action Plan
Crucially, our audit report will not only identify key IT issues, but it will also offer recommendations and specific actions that can help to improve your IT systems, security and network infrastructure. Issues will also be divided into different levels of priority, which are as follows:
High Priority 1
A high-risk problem, which could lead to substantial harm. Should be addressed as soon as possible.
Medium Priority 2
Medium risk, with a medium impact and/or probability. Address in the short term (3-6 months).
Low Priority 3
Low risk, with low impact and/or low probability. Address in the medium term (within a year).
In all cases, issues will have a description, an explanation of the potential impact the problem could have, and a recommended action that can be taken to fix the problem or mitigate the risks associated with it.
This will then allow us to work with you to create a more detailed action plan, addressing any issues with your IT solutions, but also taking your IT systems and processes to the next level, in line with your broader business objectives.
